Habitat for Humanity of the Roaring Fork Valley
Housing Production and Education Center
Habitat for Humanity Roaring Fork Valley is actively working to develop a workforce training center building net-zero prefabricated homes for deed-restricted affordable housing. The Housing Production and Education Center will be located in Rifle, Colorado, to help address the affordable housing crisis in Western Colorado and beyond.

The Housing Production and Education Center will be a 50,000 sq ft facility capable of building up to 100 homes each year! The recently updated affordable housing needs assessment puts the local housing deficit at over 5,000 homes. The community will be able to see and feel the tangible difference that Habitat for Humanity of the Roaring Fork Valley is having on the affordable housing crisis!
The Housing Production and Education Center will provide workforce training for up to 50 students each year! This on the job training will give students the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge to be productive, thriving members of our community. Habitat for Humanity of the Roaring Fork Valley is committed to providing opportunities for community members to grow in their independence and skills and we believe that this is a great opportunity for students in our valley!

The facility is anticipated to have 27 full-time employees annually, contributing to the region's economic development, which is traditionally heavily reliant on oil and gas extraction activities. Habitat for Humanity of the Roaring Fork Valley is committed to paying our team of hardworking individuals livable wages and benefits. We take pride in our team and are optimistic about the growth we will see over the next few years.
Habitat for Humanity of the Roaring Fork Valley is committed to net-zero energy homes. Habitat for Humanity RFV delivered, alongside numerous partners, the first 27 net-zero affordable homes in rural western Colorado. Basalt Vista was recognized by Habitat International and other affiliates with the Best in Multifamily Development Design of the year in 2021. We are committed to building the homes in Wapiti Commons, Glenwood Springs, and all future developments to the same standard.
