Job Site Volunteer Opportunities

Build homes with us

You don’t need prior construction experience, just a willing heart to support our mission of building homes with local families in need of affordable housing.

You can come alone or with a group of co-workers, friends, or family. Learn more about our team-building volunteer opportunities below.

  • A Habitat job site is an inclusive, judgment-free environment. Don’t be afraid to ask questions!

  • No construction experience required. Our construction team is trained to teach you the necessary skills.

  • Volunteer days are 9am to 3pm.

We’re excited to see you!

Bring your team

There is nothing more rewarding than a team building day on our construction site. You'll not only help build a stronger future for the families we serve, you’ll also have a great day outside building community with your co-workers.

Team Building Group Guidelines

  • A full team build volunteer day starts at 9am and ends at 3pm.

  • Team build days are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis and can fill up quickly, especially during the spring and summer.

  • All volunteers in your group must be 18 or older (16 and 17-year-olds can build if a parent is present).

What you need to know

First-time volunteer? Don’t sweat it! Here’s what to expect:

  • Wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

  • Our job site volunteer coordinator will walk you through safety training when you arrive.

  • Please bring lunch and a water bottle.

  • We provide all tools and safety equipment, including gloves.

  • All volunteers will be asked to sign a volunteer waiver before they can work on any tasks.

  • Youth ages 16-17 must have a parent fill out a waiver before they can work on the build site.

  • Due to safety concerns, volunteers ages 16 and under are not allowed on the construction site during active construction. (To learn more about youth volunteer opportunities, please contact our volunteer coordinator—see contact information below.)

  • Sometimes our photographer comes out to take photos, so you may be featured in our social media or marketing materials. If this is a problem for you, please let us know.

If you have questions, please contact Carolyn Meadowcroft at Volunteer@HabitatRoaringFork.org or (970) 379-4880.

Help us build affordable homes with the people we need in our community

Families who partner with us build their own homes alongside volunteers, pay an affordable mortgage and are grateful for your help.
