Volunteer opportunities now available in our ReStore
Volunteer at our ReStore
Many people don’t know this, but our Habitat for Humanity RFV ReStore is the economic engine of our organization. The proceeds from our ReStore allow us to direct 100% of financial donations to our homebuilding fund and pay a living wage, including benefits, to our hardworking ReStore staff. For more about our ReStore, click here.
No retail experience is required to volunteer in our store, just a desire to have some fun with our team and help serve our valued guests.
Short- and long-term volunteer opportunities are available. Volunteer opportunities are open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
To volunteer at the ReStore, please call LeAnna at (970) 618-1690
Come build with us — no experience necessary!
Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have any building opportunities. We just completed Basalt Vista, and we are working on getting Wapiti Commons to the point where we can welcome volunteers.
Keep an eye out for the opening of opportunities at Wapiti Commons beginning at the end of the Summer! Until then, check out our options available at the ReStore today!
Bring your team for a fun day on our build site
There is nothing more rewarding than a team building day on our construction site. You'll not only help build a stronger future for the families we serve, you’ll also have a great day outside building community with your co-workers.
Team Building Group Guidelines
A full team build volunteer day starts at 9am and ends at 3pm.
Team build days are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis and can fill up quickly, especially during the spring and summer.
All volunteers in your group must be 18 or older (16 and 17-year-olds can build if a parent is present).
There is no experience required. Our staff is trained to be able to teach all of skills you will need to know. We ask that you come with an open mind, ready to learn. Our build sites are a judgement-free zone; do not be afraid to ask questions!
What should I expect when volunteering at the build site?
Wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Our job site volunteer coordinator will walk you through safety training when you arrive.
Please bring lunch and a water bottle.
We provide all tools and safety equipment, including gloves.
All volunteers will be asked to sign a volunteer waiver before they can work on any tasks.
Sometimes our photographer comes out to take photos, so you may be featured in our social media or marketing materials. If this is a problem for you, please let us know.
What should I expect when volunteering at the ReStore?
How old do you have to be to volunteer on the build site?
Youth who are 16-17 must have a parent fill out a waiver before they work on the build site. They also must have a parent present during their time on the build site. However, due to safety concerns, volunteers under 16 are not allowed on the construction site during active construction. (To learn more about youth volunteer opportunities, please contact our volunteer coordinator—see contact information below.)
Can I complete my court ordered community service with Habitat for Humanity?
Yes, if you have to complete court-ordered community service you can complete those hours in our ReStore. No skills required.
To complete your required hours, please contact LeAnna Atkinson at (970) 618-1690.
Is lunch provided while volunteering?
No, lunch is not provided for individual volunteers. We encourage you to pack a sack lunch to eat with the team and other volunteers. If you are scheduling a team build day please contact Carolyn at (970) 379-4880.
Help us build affordable homes with the people we need in our community
Families who partner with us build their own homes alongside volunteers, pay an affordable mortgage and are grateful for your help.
