About the artist: Louis McClure (1867-1957) studied with the renowned photographer, William Henry Jackson. He made a career of photographing Colorado mountain landscapes, rivers and railroads; however, he is most famous for his photographs of Denver in the 1890's through the 1920's during the 'City Beautiful' movement. McClure's artistry makes him one of the revered historical photographers of Denver and Colorado. The Denver Public Library has an extensive collection of McClure's prints and negatives.
