Habitat in the RFV Celebrates 25 Years

Much to celebrate; more to build!
As Habitat for Humanity of the Roaring Fork Valley celebrates our silver anniversary, we are building more partnerships and innovative solutions that support our mission-critical work.
Our goal for the next 25 years is to scale up homebuilding and address the need for attainable workforce housing in our communities — a need that continues to grow unabated at the expense of our families and economies. With your financial and volunteer support, you will help us continue to deliver economic impact to our region by building more homes and brighter futures with the hardworking families who are the fabric of our communities.
Economic impact
Through 25 years of construction, building 66 energy-efficient homes from Aspen to Parachute has contributed over $100 million in direct and indirect economic impact to the local economy. This impact is realized through wages, suppliers and subcontractors in the building process and the ripple effect produced by the Habitat for Humanity RFV enterprise. Not to mention the economic impact of our 40,000-square-foot ReStore, which has repurposed over 27,000 tons of gently used furniture and building materials since 2008.
As Habitat families thrive with affordable mortgages and utilities, they are no longer required to spend the majority of their income on housing. When our workforce can live and work in their community, they will stay long-term, contributing to and supporting their local economy.
