Donate to Help Homebuyers like Karla

Before buying a Habitat for Humanity home, Karla lived with her two small children in a concrete-floored garage, paying $850 monthly. Her daughter is three and her son is 12. They had a single bed, a toilet, a small sink, a small fridge, and a single burner to cook on. There were no windows to provide light, and temperature regulation was non-existent.

Karla is a local banker and an essential, hard-working community member. As a single mother, Karla does everything she can to provide for her children. No mother wants to live in this situation but unfortunately these are the housing options that were available for her to make ends meet. However, this is not where Karla's story ends! Karla will soon be moving into her beautiful new townhome with three bedrooms and two bathrooms for her children to grow and flourish.

This story is so encouraging and with your support we are able to help more workforce families in our community enter homeownership. The affordable housing crisis in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valleys has put a burden on the region's employees, institutions, and businesses. Habitat RFV needs your help to find solutions for our community who deserperately needs affordable housing solutions.
