Details: Hilaire Colcombet is the direct descendendent of a long line of innovators of the silk trade dating back to 1785. Based out of Lyon, France, the birthplace of the silk industry, the BUCOL company was the first to apply synthetic fiber to luxury textile creating fabrics revered by designers in high fashion worldwide. When Hilaire took control of the company in the early 60's, he formed a laboratory with which designers, color specialists and technical experts in weaving joined forces to create innovative shapes, matierals and colors never seen before. In the early 80's, Hilaire began partnering with major artists of the time to bring contemporary design to the silk medium through print. To this day, the BUCOL brand (now joined with Holding Textile Hermes) attracts high fashion designers from Paris to New York.
